There’s something about deadlines and development. You set a line in the sand, say “our product is launching here”, and a broadcast goes out to all the little code gremlins all across the world. They see your deadline, laugh, and pick up their wrenches. That’s been our week at the WP Ninjas offices.
We’d planned to launch Ninja Forms Three this past Monday to select users. In preparation, our developers spent the week prior, some of them from their hotel rooms at Pressnomics, bug testing every possible nook and cranny of THREE. Bugs were found and bugs were fixed, but Monday became Tuesday and Tuesday became Wednesday. Bugs, actual bugs like the bacterial and viral kind, decided our development team would be a great place to set up shop. After putting in 70+ hours of work the week before, they made generous hosts.
All that to say, on Wednesday our CEO James decided this…
And so, after the ensuing conversation in which half a dozen or so of James’ Twitter followers discussed the merits of sending your staff to work in a hole (a conversation I may have instigated somewhat), the office is empty of sick people, leaving only yours truly and our intrepid Senior Developer Kyle, who may or may not be some kind of cyborg.
All this to say, in an entertaining a fashion as possible, we’re launching to select users next week. Or, we’re going to try our darnedest to get THREE out the door to select users early next week, barring further unforeseen circumstances. When that moment does come, you can rest assured that it has been tested and debugged to the fullest extent possible. In other words, sacrifices have been made to ensure that the product we put in your hands is the highest possible quality, and we won’t give it to you until we can say that with surety.
I have now gone much farther down this rabbit hole than I had originally intended, so without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, this week’s roundup of WP Ninjas content!
And that’s that. See you next week!
